The bike carrier is lightweight and easy to put on as is the detachable ramp. It was not particularly easy to assemble - directions aren't that clear - but my son figured it out eventually. I'm having trouble getting the locking pin to go into the hitch and had to use a wrench. I bought the one with the lock and you have to get it in a fair ways to connect the lock on the other side. I'm hoping it will get easier with use. But the carrier itself is wonderful - very easy to get my bike on and off after my shoulder replacement and inability to lift much.
